Pimsleur Chinese Mandarin Level 1 (Lessons 1-30)
In the Pimsleur Chinese Mandarin Comprehensive Level 1 course, you will learn to form grammatically correct sentences pertaining to the most common life, business and travel situations including greeting others, days of the week, asking for directions, eating & drinking, going to a restaurant, making plans, telling time, negotiating purchases and dealing with money, numbers and counting, talking about your family and asking others about their families, socializing with colleagues and friends, asking someone out on a date, and general work and business discussions. You will learn to express yourself mainly in the present tense and you will be introduced to the past tense toward the end.

How Much Will I Learn?
Upon completion of the Pimsleur Chinese Mandarin Comprehensive Level I Program (30 lessons), the learner will have achieved spoken-language communication skills at the Intermediate-Low Level. This level is characterized by the ability to participate in simple, direct conversations on every day topics, in everyday situations; by being able to satisfy immediate needs, such as ordering food and making simple purchases; and by being able to establish rapport with strangers in a foreign country.
